A business school for business people

AVT Business School, a privately-owned American Executive business school located in Copenhagen, Denmark. Annually, AVT serves approximately 250 students in its CBA and MBA classes, making it one of the largest CBA/MBA institutions in Denmark.

Our management team has extensive experience from both private industry and from business schools, MBA programs and executive education programs.

AVT was founded in 2002 and since then more than 800 Danish executives have completed the AVT CBA and MBA programs.

AVT was also a visinary pioneer in the educational world in 2002 where the launch of the CBA program blazed the path that others would later follow. CBA is a registered trademark of AVT. Thus, the title CBA is protected and can only be used by graduates of AVT Business School.

The AVT Mission

Our name, AVT - Association for Visionary Thinking - says it all: we are committed to be visionary.

We strive to create visionary leaders. And constantly search for the best management tools and techniques to be implemented in our programs for tomorrow's leaders. We create a powerful and visionary network that today's leaders need.

Visionary leadership is responsible leadership. We strongly encourage the  concept of Globally Responsible Leadership in our executive MBA program, and we are among the first adopters of the UN Principles for Responsible Management Education.

Why Choose AVT?

AVT has developed a unique educational concept that allows you to reach your goals while balancing the demands of studies, work and family.

AVT breaks executive education down into manageable modules designed to match the speed of competence development with the speed of a sound career development - and to support life-long learning and networking. You can study for the AVT MBA in two or three steps, the first step always being the CBA program.

With AVT you get executive education that focuses on giving you the tools and skills you need to create results. And you will be taught by our experienced visiting faculty who also teaches at some of the world's best business schools, i.e. Berkeley, Harvard, Tulane and Oxford.

Our sessions are held once a month in the exclusive AVT Executive Center teaching facilities at Sankt Annae Plads in the center of Copenhagen.

Executive education with AVT is a truly executive experience.

The AVT Business School MBA is on track for EPAS accreditation

In January 2009 our MBA at AVT Business School was declared eligible for the international EPAS accreditation. AVT is currently preparing for the next stage in the accreditation process and we are expecting final accreditation from the European Foundation of Management Development (EFMD), which grants EPAS status, in the next academic year (2010).

The European Foundation for Management Development is based in Brussels, and is one of the primary and most recognized international MBA accreditation institutions in the world. Read more here.

We take our AACSB, EFMD and GRLI memberships seriously

Being a business school for business people run by business people does not mean that we do not adhere to the academic standards and best practices when planning our CBA and MBA. On the contrary.

AVT is a member of AACSB as an Educational member.

AVT is also a Full Member of the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) and has engaged with EFMD for the future development of our CBA and MBA programs. AVT is declared eligible by EFMD for the EPAS accreditation process. Read more here.

The AVT MBA has been designed in accordance with the requirements laid down in the EFMD EQUAL MBA Guidelines.

In 2007 AVT became partner in the Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative (GRLI). This partnership will allow us to develop our CBA and MBA programs with the forefront of knowledge within responsible leadership, sustainability and business ethics.

AVT is also an early adopter of the UN Global Compact Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME). - the first Danish business school to sign-up for these principles.

If you find Globally Responsible Leadership as important as we do, you will be pleased to know that this is the overarching theme of the AVT MBA program. Read more about this GRLI Learning Action here.

Asia and China

Our participants can also take advantage of AVT's membership of Danish Chinese Business Forum (www.dcbf.dk) and the Asia Business Forum (www.asiabusinessforum.dk).

AVT has joined these forums to gain insight and knowledge. We introduce Asia and China to the MBA participants as part of the Global Management course on the MBA. This course also includes a cultural briefing and a study tour to Shanghai.

Eastern Europe

At AVT we also believe that there are many opportunities in the Baltic region, which has not been fully explored by Danish companies. In order to establish a closer relation, and to include regional perspectives in the AVT programmes, AVT has recently joined the Baltic Management Development Assoctiaion, BMDA (www.bmda.net).
