The admissions requirements
The AVT Admissions Committee makes final decisions on admission. A minimum of five years of business experience is required for all of our education programs, as well as a successful admissions interview.
To ensure a class composition that will maximize the personal learning experience of the participants, the Admissions Committee focuses on the following qualities of each candidate:
- Ambition and drive
- Individual business and/or management experience
- Personal profile and demonstrated leadership potential
- English language skills
The Admissions Interview
The admissions interview is held in English. Applicants are asked to prepare a 10-minute presentation on a business case along with answers to specific questions. You will receive the business case and the questions in advance of an interview with the Program Manager.
The purpose of the CBA admissions interview is to establish that:
- The candidate meets the admissions requirements
- A complete application form has been submitted, including all appendices (proof of prior academic experience, etc.)
- The candidate has support from a sponsoring company as well as from his/her family
- The candidate understands the contents, structure and intended learning objectives of the CBA programThe CBA program matches the expectations and needs of the candidate
The CBA admissions interview takes place at AVT Business School. In exceptional cases the interview may take place via Skype. The duration of the interview is approximately one hour.
A completed application form, with all appendices, must be submitted to AVT before the interview. The Program Manager will advise you determine when your application is complete and sufficient for the admissions process.
The first step is to contact the Program Manager and fill out the application form. The Dean of AVT Business School will be Head of the Admissions Committee.
What about GMAT?
While GMAT (General Management Admission Test) is useful for determining the study capability of an MBA student, it is of most value when assessing younger candidates with little or no work experience.
Since all CBA participants have ample experience and a solid career track, AVT does not require results of the GMAT in our admissions procedure. We take a holistic view of your profile – taking into account your previous studies, career and accomplishments. Our primary entry requirements are experience, language skills, ambition and drive. This is what makes our CBA such an intensive learning experience.
