Leading People and Organizations prepares the student to lead high-performing, successful groups and organizations. The primary objective of this course is to develop leadership skills. Specifically, the student will learn how to exhibit sound judgment in times of uncertainty and how to manage group decision-making processes so that teams and organizations make effective decisions.

The student will learn how to motivate and influence people without relying on formal authority. In particular, the student will understand how to set effective goals, leverage individuals’ skills and abilities, align performance with appropriate and valued incentives, deliver and receive high-impact feedback, and manage issues related to equity and fairness in teams. Finally, the student will learn how to build and manage high-performing teams, with a particular focus on establishing shared goals, productive norms, and effective task and relational team processes.
