Michael Shanahan

Michael Shanahan is a Senior Partner and Managing Director in BCG’s Boston office and a senior member of the Organizational Practice with global responsibility for BCG’s Culture and Leadership topic area.

Over his 25 plus years of management consulting experience, he has built deep expertise in organizational design, change management and leadership development. His consulting practice has spanned a wide variety of industries and has focused on the challenges of restructuring, leadership and team alignment, organizational design, and employee engagement.

The topics of his lecture will include a discussion of his work of identifying new strategic opportunities for firms in capital intensive industries and an investigation of factors influencing CEO decision-making.

Prior to becoming a consultant, Mike was in research at Queen Mary College, University of London, and also taught for a number of years. He is a graduate of Cambridge University, U.K., from which he holds a B.A. with Honors.
