MBA Kick-off
We start the MBA with a kick-off in September, an informal gathering soon to be followed by the first module – Advanced Strategic Global Management. Then we continue with regular classes once a month at the AVT Executive Center at Sankt Annæ Plads in the center of Copenhagen.
The MBA class
On the class days, we meet at 8 am for a light breakfast. Teaching starts at 8:30 am and we work until around 6 pm. The day will be a mix of lectures, case learning, group work and perhaps some preparations for the next day.
Come prepared!
It is important to come prepared for class. The professors will expect that you have read the material for the class and they will base the teaching on your active participation.
You will have received your text book(s) and case material well in advance.
Study at the AVT Executive Center
Classes are always held at the AVT Executive Center at Sankt Annæ Plads in the center of Copenhagen. There are plenty of parking facilities nearby (the nearest is the Parking facility in Dronningens Tværgade, but you may also find space on the street – since classes start on Sundays), the Metro is 600 meters away, and there are also six hotels within walking distance (Phoenix, Neptun, Front, Admiral, D’Angleterre, Nyhavn 71) , but the overnight stay is not included in the program fee.
Coffee, water, fresh fruit and snacks are available in the breaks, and you will also be served a light breakfast and lunch during the days.
We always say goodbye with a small reception with drinks and a snack on the last day of each module.
A few days after the module you will receive an online questionnaire, where you give feedback on the Module, the professor and the practical logistics. This helps us improve – and your feedback is made available to the AVT management, the professor and the AVT Alumni Board for evaluation.
The study and exams
We expect you to spend 100 hours of studying on the MBA per month. This includes preparation, classes and time spent on writing papers.
You will have 3 individual papers and 5 group papers to complete (50 hours / 3000 words each). Also, you will sit 3 written, individual exams (4 hours, open book, take home exams). And one, final Applied Research Project (150 hours / 8000 words). You will also have to defend your Applied Research Paper at the final oral exam.
The individual papers and the Applied Research Project are written with your own company as the case, and you will have to include elements of Responsible Leadership, cross culture and Global Management.
Graduation
After passing all the papers and exams, you will receive your MBA title and diploma at the MBA graduation, which is always a festive occasion that we all look forward to.
