Alumnus and mentor: Great to be back at AVT as a mentor

As a mentor at AVT Business School Michael Pihl Hansen gains new input to support the positive, lifelong process towards stronger personal leadership that began during his MBA studies.

It is fascinating what you gain from Professor Laura Morgan Roberts teaching Personal Leadership Development at AVT Business School as an MBA student.

Later, it is just as fascinating to discover how the process that began during the MBA studies continues after your graduation if you want it to, says Michael Pihl Hansen.

Michael Pihl Hansen finished his MBA in 2011. Now he is back at AVT Business School as a mentor for a group of MBA students following Professor Laura Morgan Roberts teaching.

Enjoy being a mentor
In his daily life Michael is Business Development Manager at Valora Trade Nordic, an independent distributor of various brands.

”I enjoy being a mentor and to help a group of MBA students to get the best out of the MBA program,” says Michael.

“My main focus as a mentor is to facilitate the group to work in depth with the leadership development process and to help the group structure the process. I know the process and the challenges so well from my own recent studies.”

Keeps his promise
Michael Pihl Hansen made a promise to himself as an MBA student. He wanted to continue his development as a leader after graduation. Mentoring helps him sticking to his plan.

”I do personally benefit from being a mentor,” says Michael.

“Since I graduated last year I have aimed at continuing the positive process that began at AVT. You cannot study personal leadership, graduate and say: “OK that was it. I’m done.” It’s an ongoing process, and the mentoring helps me to stick to my plan of lifelong improvement,” says Michael Pihl Hansen.
