AVT appoints international top professor as new Dean

Professor Ronald S.J. Tuninga, a recognized European scholar specializing in international Management and Marketing, with more than 70 articles and books published, will join the AVT faculty as Business School Dean effective15th September. Prof Tuninga obtained his PhD at Temple University in Philadelphia with his dissertation on Comparative Marketing. In addition to his academic work, he is also involved in a number of international projects commissioned by the Dutch government, the World Bank and the European Union. He is a highly regarded professor and has taught at universities worldwide.
 

AVT was founded in 2002 with the innovative CBA programme – a kind of mini-MBA. The executive MBA was added on later and with Ronald S.J. Tuninga as Dean, the school will be ready to launch a series of new and tailored corporate programmes. Brief, intensive courses will also be launched where students can either refresh individual topics or be introduced to complete new topics typically part of a MBA.

Dr. Tuninga states: ”AVT Business School is a European school inspired by an American educational tradition. AVT is very innovative in combining a European and American educational pedagogical approach to business education. I believe this specific approach to executive education holds international perspectives”, says Ronald S.J. Tuninga.

CEO Christina Hvid describes him as an enthusiastic academic and entrepreneur with a strong international network. She States:

In his role as dean we will be able to accelerate the introduction of several new programmes and still maintain the standard and high quality in the class room, which has always been the AVT brand”, says Christina Hvid.

Following American tradition, as dean, Professor Ronald S.J. Tuningas official title will be responsible for the academic quality and development of the school. Christina Hvid will continue her responsibility for the administrative and business development aspects of AVT Business School.
