MBA 2012 Live Case Group Pitches

MBA students add graphic facilitation to their toolbox

AVT Business School is the first executive MBA program to integrate graphic facilitation into the curriculum.

We live in challenging times. Our vision at AVT Business School is to create the visionary leaders of tomorrow. This vision drives us to continuously search for tools and methodologies that will give our students an edge and help them navigate the change in the best possible way. We believe graphic facilitation is one of them.

Working visually provides an integrated, creative approach to the challenge of getting a team or an entire organization to understand, engage and mobilize around a vision.

Graphic facilitation was developed in San Francisco and is being used to drive innovation and change by cutting edge companies around the world.

Graphic facilitation proved its strengths
On January 24 the MBA students got a hands-on introduction to graphic facilitation and was challenged to use it right away on their Live Case presentations for the same day workshop at Maersk Line.

In very short time the teams created a clear visual presentation, using simple icons and graphics on a large format paper. During the workshop at Maersk Line the visual presentations proved their strength over plain power points as they engaged the expert panel in a very constructive dialog.

During the Live Case workshop at Maersk Line the students were introduced to another visual tool; graphic recording. The entire afternoon was recorded visually by three outstanding graphic recorders and the resulting mural is much stronger than any minutes of meeting.
